Looking Ahead to the New Ram 1500/2500/3500 Models

The new 2019 Ram 1500 has all kinds of new updated technology and features. The 2019 Ram 1500 is a completely new truck that has been overhauled from top to bottom. It has more interior space, more technology and includes a mild-hybrid system that will lead the charge for the Detroit Three. The new model was revealed in the 2018 North American International Auto Show that is held in Detroit and will be on sale in March in Kansas and Missouri.

The features of the new 2019 Ram 1500 for sale in Belton, MO are as follows:

  • An increase in the maximum payload to 2,300 pounds and an increase to 12,750 pounds for the towing capability
  • Harman Kardon audio system with nineteen premium speakers, 900-watt surround sound amplifier and a ten-inch subwoofer is available on most of the trims
  • The Ram gets an electric parking brake for 2019
  • The Rebel comes standard with a 4x4 off-road package (available as an option on all models)
  • The front has a Ram's head logo and active grille shutters as well as a front air dam that will deploy at 35 miles per hour and retract at 15 miles per hour with a front camera that is hidden inside of the "A" on the "RAM" logo
  • There is more space with a longer, wider cab (an overall widening of four inches), a flat-load floor with RamBins, the second row has slide reclining seats, expandable under seat storage, and tie-down rings
  • The new Ram is 225 pounds lighter than the previous model by using aluminum in the transmission crossmember, front control-arm crossmember, and tailgate along with high-strength steel
  • The 48V eTorque system will also be offered as an option with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine that will add 130 lb-ft of torque (has an 8-speed auto transmission)
  • The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine comes standard with a new 48V eTorque system that will add 90 lb-ft of torque (has an 8-speed auto transmission)

Keep all of these different features in mind when you are trying to decide on which trim you want to go with for yourself.

When looking at the styling of the Ram, there are many different trims to choose from. The full-size pickup is offered in the Tradesman, the Big Horn, the Laramie, the Rebel, the Limited and the Longhorn with an infinite possibility of configurations to choose from. As of right now, the price has not yet been revealed.

The overall look of the truck is a bit softer than it used to be in the 90s. It has a cleaner and sharper look with wheel arches that aren't as aggressive, and a taller bed that allows you to have better aerodynamics than before. The grille is obviously different now with the "RAM" logo at the center, carried over from last year's Rebel and Limited trims.

Inside the 2019 Ram 1500's interior, you can see that this is a modern vehicle with a focus on storage and tech. Each grade of the 1500 level has been customized to give it a unique feel. At the highest level, the Limited has a wide variety of storage bins and tech features paired with soft leather upholstery. The Rebel has a more masculine feel whereas the Longhorns have real wood trim and stamped leather.

For the 2019 models, Ram offers 3.6-liter V6 or 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engines. Both engines come with eTorque, a 48-volt mid-hybrid system. Battery packs and electronic monitors come standard in all V6 models but can be replaced in the V8 models.

The differences between the V6 and V8 continue. The V-6 offers 305 horsepower. It also features a stop-start system which reduces fuel consumption when the truck is stopped. The V-8 boosts 395 horsepower. To help conserve fuel, the V-8 has cylinder deactivation that shuts down half the cylinders while cruising. The V8's frame has a vibration cancellation system to reduce vibration for a smoother ride.

Every Ram 1500 has an 8-speed automatic transmission. For greater ground clearance, the Ram 1500 has an air suspension that raises and lowers the truck up to two inches. The Ram 1500 comes with either a 6.5-foot or 8-foot bed. The spacious interior features plenty of room for the rear seats. All seats, front and rear, are heated and cooled. The rear seat backs recline for total comfort. The center console has plenty of storage space for all your needs.

The Ram 1500 comes in a wide variety of trim levels, each more luxurious than the last. Upholstery choices include cloth, vinyl, and natural leather.

Ram hasn't skimped on the safety features for the 1500. The 2019 models are safer than the outgoing 2018 models. Every 2019 model has a reinforced frame with front overlapping crash structures. Forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, active lane control, and a surround-view camera system are available. A rearview camera comes standard in every Ram, making for some easy maneuvering.

Every 2019 Ram 1500 can be customized with additional features such as leather interiors, 22-inch wheels, a 12-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, rear cooled seats. These trucks can be customized for work duty, making these vehicles functional as well as stylish.

While Ram is busy unveiling the 1500 for 2019, some truck enthusiasts are wondering what is in store for the Ram 2500 in Belton, MO and Ram 3500 Heavy Duty in Belton, MO. Ram has no plans to drop these models quite yet. Fans should expect to see new models coming out in 2020 with details released in late 2018 or early 2019. Trucks have been gaining in popularity and more focus is being placed on the growing number of features available for every new truck model. This makes it difficult for manufacturers like Ram to come out with a new model of every truck each year. More exciting news from Ram is expected in the future!
