The New 2018 Jeep Cherokee

Features of the New Jeep Cherokee

The new 2018 Jeep Cherokee has five different trim options. These include the Latitude, the Latitude Plus, the Limited, the Trailhawk and the Overland. All of these trim levels (apart from the Trailhawk) come with standard front-wheel drive and the option of getting the all-wheel drive (Active Drive I).

There are three trim models that can get an upgrade to Active Drive II and those are the Latitude Plus, the Limited and the Overland models. This Active Drive II gives you low-range gearing and off-roading capabilities and the Trailhawk comes fitted with a particular version of the Active Drive II that includes a locking rear differential.

If we start by looking at the Latitude starting at $25,490, it is fitted with 17-inch aluminum wheels. There are high-intensity discharge headlights, fog lights, LED running lights, LED taillights, hill-start assist, roof rails, height-adjustable seats in the front, tilting-and-telescoping steering wheel, a rear wiper, cruise control, rearview camera, and trailer sway control. The media and information section of the vehicle includes Bluetooth capability, a 5-inch touchscreen and an audio system that comes with an SD card reader, USB port, auxiliary input and six speakers. With this model, you are able to get a new Tech Connect package as well which will give you Uconnect with an 8.4-inch screen, satellite radio, and even an Amazon Alexa device.

The Latitude Plus starts at $27,390 and includes the Tech Connect package as standard. In addition to this, you will also get a 115-volt auxiliary power outlet, a front passenger seat that can fold flat, keyless entry and push start, satellite radio, a leather steering wheel with audio controls in the wheel and cloth or leather seating surfaces available to you.

The Limited starting at $30,890, will give you 18-inch aluminum wheels. It also includes a power adjustable driver's seat, leather upholstery, a 7-inch display screen, dual-zone climate control, rearview mirror that self-dims and an automatic garage door opener. It goes on to give you leather-wrapped shifter, USB connection, and remote start. A few other things that were added in 2018 were the power liftgate, the blind spot monitoring, a heated steering wheel, rear parking sensors and cross-path detection.

The Trailhawk starts at $32,090 and will cost you the power driver seat and a few other items of convenience. It will, however, add skid plates, 17-inch alloy wheels, off-road suspension to include a one-inch lift, flared fenders, tow hooks in the front and rear, and more options when it comes to the interior upholstery. You will also get blind spot monitoring with rear cross path detection, dual-zone climate control, and rear parking sensors.

The Overland is the most lavish model and starts at $35,190. It will feature 18-inch alloy wheels, and powered, heated and ventilated front seats (with memory for the driver's seat). The steering wheel offers a wood trim and an instrument panel in leather for a more luxurious look to the vehicle. There will be Berber mats and a better audio and navigation system. If you choose the AWD version of the Overland it will come with a V6 engine.

The Technology Group package is offered for the Limited, Overland and Trailhawk trims only. It adds adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, forward collision warning, automatic braking, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning and parking assist. You may also choose a lesser package (Safetytec) which includes heated side mirrors, rear cross-path detection, blind spot monitoring system, and rear parking sensors.

The New Jeep Cherokee is Very Safe

The Cherokee can tow up to 4,500 pounds when it has the proper equipment. With the rear seats up, it has 24.6 cubic feet of cargo space. With the seats folded down, it offers 54.9 cubic feet of cargo space. Rated four stars overall and five stars on side impacts from the government crash testing, the Jeep Cherokee adds to its basket of achievements an impressive appraisal from the Independent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). This makes it a safe vehicle to travel in.

This is however not surprising noting that a standard Cherokee will be supplied with a set of good safety-friendly features. These include four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, nine airbags, standard stability control and a rear-view camera.

Of notable interest are these nine airbags that cover practically all the necessary areas inside the vehicle. From the front to rear, knees, and sides, the airbags offer ample protection to everyone inside.

Another safety facet installed into the Cherokee is a forward collision mitigation system. This sophisticated mechanism will bring the vehicle to an abrupt stop should an impact be anticipated.

Why Buy the New Jeep Cherokee for sale in Kansas and Missouri?

If you want a smooth ride, a luxurious interior, and a truck that'll handle any rough weather while getting good gas mileage, then the 2018 Jeep Cherokee is the vehicle for you.

It has a great price point and excellent technology. It offers park assist, cruise control, and excellent space inside.

The gas mileage is excellent. The EPA rates the Cherokee at 21 mpg city/29 mpg hwy with the front-wheel model and the 20 mpg city/ 27 mpg highway with all-wheel drive.

You have the option with the regular model of a 2.4-liter engine with 184 horsepower, which is great for a compact SUV. You can also upgrade, of course, to the V6 that is ideal if you need a more powerful vehicle with 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque so you can drive yourself out of the snow in the winter. The upgraded model is also a fantastic off-roader. The V6 is ideal for driving around back roads and dusty hills or muddy lots. It offers tremendous fun with all this power.

Active Drive II is especially terrific for people who live in places with potentially rough weather like Kansas or Missouri. Not are you only getting low range gearing, you are still getting the excellent gas mileage of 21 mpg city/27 mpg hwy (or with the variation lock 19 city/25 hwy or 22 combined). If you go with the V4 Active Drive II you get the 18 city/ 21 hwy or 21 combined (18 city/ 34 hwy with the variation lock).

Either way, you'll be buying a solid, fun-to-drive, sporty vehicle for a great price. You will not only love the drive; you will love the style, power, and fun.
